2026-06-12 · Buffalo Rumblings

The Buffalo Bills have announced the waiver of cornerback Dorian Strong with a non-football injury (NFI) designation as they conclude their mandatory minicamp. This decision comes after Strong, who was drafted in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, faced significant challenges following a severe neck injury that sidelined him for the majority of his rookie season. Strong initially showed promise as a starter in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens, but his injury led to his placement on Injured Reserve in October 2025. After undergoing neck surgery in February 2026, his return to play this season was deemed unrealistic. The Bills are no longer obligated to pay Strong, but if he clears waivers, he could be added back to the team via the NFI list, allowing the Bills to retain control of his contract. Alongside Strong's release, the Bills also waived running back Desmond Reid and wide receiver Gabriel Benyard, making room for new signings as they prepare for the upcoming season.
