Former Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott has sold his Orchard Park home for $1.6 million.
The sale cuts one of his last remaining ties with the Buffalo area after being fired in January.
McDermott was fired by Bills owner Terry Pegula after the team's loss to the Denver Broncos in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs.
He had a long track record of success with the team, notching at least one playoff win in each of the last six seasons.
Pegula said it was the team's failure to break through to the Super Bowl that prompted him to fire McDermott.
The team is currently standing 15th in the American Football Conference with a 3-14 record, on a L5 streak.
McDermott has moved his family back to Charlotte, North Carolina, and has remained active around the NFL.
The Bills have elevated Joe Brady to the top post and are hoping he can find more playoff success.
Their next game is against the Houston Texans on September 13, 2026.
McDermott is expected to be a top contender for coaching jobs next cycle.
He has already settled down in Charlotte, where he purchased a $5 million home in May.
The former Bills coach served as an analyst during the NFL draft and later joined former Bills assistant general manager Joe Schoen at a New York Giants practice.
McDermott's home in Orchard Park was sold to Four Plus One WNY LLC for $1.6 million.
He had purchased the house in May 2017 for $998,500, making a tidy sum from the sale.
The house has six bedrooms and a four-car garage, sitting on 2.1 acres of land.
